perseverance, a.i. and toledo history highlight the carlson conversations lecture series this spring

The Carlson Conversations Lecture Series continues this spring with three lectures. 

In January the University Libraries will present "The Three Lives of Philip Markowicz," a story of perseverance and survival from pre-World War II Poland to Auschwitz and finally to the United States. The lecture will be presented by David Neil and Steven Markowicz on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. in the Carlson Library Main Event Space.

"Code, Collage, and Critique: Exploring Creativity and Control in the Age of A.I." will be presented in conjunction with our "Digital Imagination" show, and look at the relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence. It will examine the complex technical, political, and ethical considerations around A.I. This will be a panel lecture from three UToledo faculty, Ashley Pryor, John Sarnecki, and Ammon Allred. Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. in the Carlson Library Main Event Space.

Finally, the lecture series will conclude with Doug Tracy's "Toledo's Tenderloin in the Pre-Prohibition Era" on Wednesday, April 9 at 3 p.m. in the Carlson Library Main Event Space. This lecture will look at the rich world of Toledo history and the many untold stories of the Tenderloin, Toledo's red-light district.
